HeyHorse, LLC (“HeyHorse”) runs a platform that helps people in the equestrian community stay up-to-date on their schedule, training and event programs, and communicate with other members of the HeyHorse community. HeyHorse’s mission is to help connect the community and make the equestrian life easy and enjoyable for people and horses.
When you use HeyHorse, we get some information from and about you. We designed this Privacy Policy to be clear about what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with. We’ll also tell you how you can access, update, and delete certain information. You should take the time to read our entire Privacy Policy. If you have questions about anything in our Privacy Policy, please contact us.
Key Points about HeyHorse’s Privacy Practices
We use your information to provide you with the HeyHorse platform and to improve the platform.
We don’t sell or share your personally identifiable information with third parties. To help improve the platform and your experience, we may share or sell aggregated data that does not identify you. Some examples include - demographic information, and popular searches.
We promote HeyHorse on various social media platforms, targeting new potential members. This is achieved by requesting these platforms to identify and reach out to individuals whose profiles and interests closely resemble those of our existing HeyHorse member base.
You have choices with respect to your data. You can also ask us to access, correct, and delete your information. There are some common sense limits on these requests.
You may be prompted to choose whether to share your device's contact book and location data with us. If you choose to, we will use that data to operate, improve, and personalize our services for you. Some examples include - searching for a stable, new horse, or an event near you; and easily connecting and sending messages to your friends and family through HeyHorse.
In order to make HeyHorse a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, we require our users to follow our Community Guidelines. Please read the Community Guidelines to learn the rules for engaging with our services and people in the HeyHorse community.
We don’t allow individuals under the age of 13 to use HeyHorse.
The comprehensive Privacy Policy provided below offers an in-depth explanation of our privacy practices.
Information We Collect
There are three basic categories of information we collect:
Information you choose to give us.
Information we get when you use our services.
Information we get from outside our services (third parties).
Information You Choose to Give Us
Profile information. We collect information you add to your profile, including but not limited to your name, email address, phone number, links to other social profiles, and a profile photo.
Social network service information. You can authenticate via Google, Facebook, or other social network service (“SNS”) account to create an account on HeyHorse. When you click on the “Sign in with Google,” or similar button from another SNS, you are allowing HeyHorse to access information in your SNS profile, such as your user ID, email address, name, and profile photo.
You should know that the information we collect from your Google, Facebook, or other SNS account may depend on the privacy settings you have with that service, so you should always make sure to carefully review that SNS’s privacy and data practices.
Information you share on HeyHorse
We have access to whatever information you send through HeyHorse, such as direct messages and general community posts. Keep in mind that the other users you share information with can always save that content or copy it outside the HeyHorse app or website. So the same common sense that applies to the whole internet applies to HeyHorse as well: don’t send any messages or share content that you wouldn’t want someone to save, share, or forward.
Information you share when you contact us. Even though it’s probably obvious, we’ll say it anyway: when you contact customer support or communicate with us in any other way, we’ll collect the information you volunteer.
Information We Get When You Use HeyHorse
We collect information about how you use HeyHorse, like whether you add notes about a lesson, view an event schedule, or message someone.

The number of messages you exchange, and with whom you exchange messages with.
Content information. We collect content you create on our services, such as your lesson schedule, notes you write about your training, messages you send, events, and images posted. We also collect information about the content, like the time and date you sent a message and whether the recipient has seen the message.
Device information. We collect information about your phone, tablet, or other device you use to open HeyHorse. For example, we collect:
Information about your hardware and software, such as the hardware model, operating system version, device memory, unique application identifiers, and apps installed.
Information about your wireless and mobile network connections, such as mobile phone number, service provider, and signal strength.
Contact book. If you give us permission to sync your device's contact book, we will collect the name and telephone number of your contacts, which we will use solely to make it easier for you to connect with your contacts while using HeyHorse. This includes:
Allowing you to invite your contacts to join HeyHorse.
Letting you know which of your contacts are already using HeyHorse, and providing recommendations for new friends in the app. Similarly, if you appear in other members’ contact books, we will let them know that you have joined HeyHorse, and suggest you as a recommended friend to them.
Providing personalized in-app notifications to you and your contacts on HeyHorse, such as letting users know when their friends have sent a message they have permission to view.
Location. With your permission, we may collect information about your location using methods that include GPS, wireless networks, cell towers, Wi-Fi access points, and other sensors, such as gyroscopes, accelerometers, and compasses. You can choose not to share your precise location by changing the location settings on your phone or other device. We will only use your location data to help you find nearby stables or find local events, as well as for internal analytics purposes to help us improve our platform.

Information We Collect from Third Parties

Please note that the platform provider’s privacy policy will apply to your interactions and their collection, use and processing of your information.
We may also collect information about you from other users. For example, if another user shares their contacts or events they plan on attending, we may combine information from that user’s contact list and activities with other information we’ve collected about you.
Information About Non-Members
HeyHorse allows users to import their device's contact list to facilitate connections with existing members and to extend invitations to non-members to join the app. Consequently, we may store the names and phone numbers of these contacts who haven't yet signed up for HeyHorse ("non-members"). Additionally, we might deduce certain details about these non-members, such as their age, location, and gender. This information is used to enable existing HeyHorse members to invite non-members to the platform and to create connections among members by identifying shared non-member contacts in their devices. The handling of non-member information by HeyHorse is governed by this Privacy Policy. Non-members are also provided with options to exercise their privacy rights, as outlined in the sections below.

We use data to give you a better experience using our services that we believe improves your life in a variety of ways, through the following activities:

Personalizing your experience by, among other things, suggesting friends or customizing the content we show you.
Enhancing the safety and security of our products and services.
Verifying your identity and preventing fraud or other unauthorized or illegal activity.
Using information we’ve collected from cookies and other technology to analyze and enhance our services and your experience with them.
Enforcing our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and other usage policies.
To expand our audience for HeyHorse, we engage social media companies to identify potential users who share similar characteristics with our current user base on those networks. This strategy involves leveraging the platforms' capabilities to find "look-alike" audiences who match the profile of existing HeyHorse users, thereby optimizing our advertising efforts.
Using location data to help better improve and personalize your experience by finding your local stables, partners and events.
